The 1920's Metropolitan Block paving bricks were used in the construction of the Lincoln Tunnel, portions of the Lincoln Highway, and Queens midtown tunnel in New York City. Metropolitan Brick opened in 1902 and in 1923, were in peak production. The company has furnished paving bricks to hundreds of cities from the Mississippi River to the Atlantic Ocean, and to many cities throughout Canada. It grew to be one of the largest, if not the largest, of the paving brick manufacturers in the world.
